Casey
President
Casey is from Detroit, Michigan. She has lived in Jos for 6 years, training women in baking. She founded Milk & Honey in 2023. She is known as “malama” among many- meaning “teacher” in Hausa. Her favorite thing about life in Nigeria is constant sunshine, rice with red stew, and the women she works with.
Elizabeth
Teaching Assistant
Elizabeth was a student of Casey in her early years in Jos. She now works at Milk & Honey as an assistant in the kitchen. Elizabeth has an incredibly Godly presence in our school, and consistently points us to prayer. As a widow, she works hard to provide for her 5 children.
Laure
Teacher
Laure is the backbone of Milk & Honey. She plays many roles- baking instructor, social worker, shopper, cook (she makes the best Jollof rice). She is the loving mother of two boys.
Jimmy
Driver
While “driver” may be his title, Jimmy contributes to M&H in many ways. In addition to driving all over town to source ingredients and supplies for our kitchen, he is also a mechanic, bakery-box engineer, and middle-man between us and our vendors. You may also find him holding a baby while her mother kneads bread dough, or hopping on to wash dishes when the sinks are overflowing.
